Current Project
Tonight I find myself preparing to work on a chapter introduction to Item Attachments. I know it sounds a bit dry, but it's actually a section I'm quite excited to delve into. During the week, it was one of the sections Kevin and I had a chance to brainstorm over and pull together a clearer vision as to what needed to be included.
During these sessions, I find myself almost giddy over the suggestions that certain items could be combined while others should be split apart. Ranges and damage modifiers being tweaked while some sections demand being gutted and re-written. The focus and refinement offers one thing all game developers yearn for - progress. As each item on the expansive checklist is crossed off, one more forward step is taken toward publication.
Once the mechanics and formatting have been corrected, there is still the final filter to run our pet project through - the grammar Nazi. Yep, that final phase of the project will undoubtedly require massive restructuring and grammar corrections. And the saddest thing is this: I look forward to it. Once that final filter has been completed, the whole collection will go to press.
How far away are we from this glorious day? Hopefully, March 2021. Realistically, June 2021.
How long have I been writing the 2.0 version? September 2019.
Am I ready to get this part done? Oh, yeah.
Actually, I'm anxious to start working on modules again. I love the writing of the game system, but am really ready to begin creating story elements to flesh out our multiverse. The whole reason I created this version is to play the stories crawling around in my head. The expansion to Mountains of Mist and Mystery is nearly completed and will be called "The Fires of Apison". Even this story has a final chapter which is outlined and will conclude the campaign.
This trilogy only touches on the stories I've have to tell. In addition, I still love creating creatures and world settings which will continue to expand our multiverse.
